Our six days in Manila, Philippines: Visiting Polytechnic University of the Philippines and Barangay Sampaloc, Manila Philippines

Hi everyone, I’m Krizia M. Baring from Philippines, currently working as a Research Assistant Specialist with my boss Professor Taishi Yazawa from University of Tokyo, Japan. On May 24-29,2025, we visited the Polytechnic of University of the Philippines in Manila, for the collaboration on our upcoming research experiment in Barangay Sampaloc, Manila. For this, we are asking for a collaboration in this University, and we meet some professors in other departments and some students at university. Professor Taishi Yazawa discussed the sample research experiment that we will conduct in Barangay Sampaloc. After this successful collaboration the two students from this University gave us some tours on their campus. The purpose of this project is to visit the three Barangay’s in Sampaloc, and before we check the water supply in every house, we are asking the permission at Barangay Captain and other Barangay officials. We check the condition of their water supply and take some pictures of their well water and even their storage stock in tabs and the tap water outside of the houses. This research is comparing the status of quality of water in Manila than in Antique.
